From Speadsheets to Database

Our client is a multi-million dollar company that services a very specific kind of financial instrument.  They stand apart from the rest of the industry as one of the only companies that services these particularly complex and troublesome financial structures.

Critical to their business model is the ability to track daily market prices and relate those changes to the individual accounts of their customers.  An in-house expert developed the initial application using a combination of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Access databases.  SynaTree was selected to review their technology and see if we could streamline and improve their quarterly accounting procedures and their day-to-day operations.

SynaTree worked with the principals of the company to design and implement a sophisticated Microsoft Access database, reducing operations that had taken weeks to complete to minutes.  Our solution avoided expensive third-party software solutions and delivered just the right mix of power and user-friendly design that is a hallmark of SynaTree's work.
